Travel Day, CO to WY

We got our first glimpse of the snow-covered peaks of the Rocky Mountains today as we drove northward toward Cheyenne, WY.
We were driving parallel to the mts., so never got any closer.
Even though we remained on the plains, we were gaining altitude.
Entering Wyoming the landscape changed.
Saw my first Pronghorn Antelope of this trip.
There was a nice rest area here with RV parking and a dump station. The sign described the landscape area we were entering and native wildlife.
This Brewers Blackbird is the only wildlife we saw at the rest area. Birdie says he's wearing his finest breeding plumage.
The following pictures show some of the rugged rock outcrops. You can tell we're not in Kansas anymore.

Entering a high wind area...note the windsock. Not too bad today though.
Glad I don't have to buy this size tires for my RV.
Arrived at our next free city campground with electric hookup. Water is available and an RV dump too.
Obviously the horse couldn't read the sign about "No horses."
Tomorrow we are taking a side trip for historical sight-seeing, and we will be celebrating as Tina gets her Golden Age Pass.

  1. Sure glad you are all traveling together these days. Although beautiful in it's own way, it is lonesome looking country. Hope you all have a great site seeing day tomorrow.
