"And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold I make all things new." (Revelation 21:5)
And so, by the grace of God, the new year begins for me with a new blog for the anticipated new adventures ahead. It was an incredible year last year, and one that will be hard to top. Perhaps the best of 2011 is the way it ended, spending time with my family together at Christmas.
Christmas with family: Front Rich and daughter, Heather, me, daughter Jennifer and Tony. Back: Granddaughters Rebecca & Ashley (Jennifer & Tony's), and grandsons Brandon & Ben (Heather & Rich's). The only ones missing are Rich's two almost grown children, David & Rachael, who live in NY.
The year also begins with a newly adopted dog, Simba. Simba is a 9-month old Pomeranian. He has already captured my heart.
Simba and I had a few days to get to know each other at Petersburg campground (GA) before our travel adventures begin on January 1st. He is a friendly little dog that is eager to please. I think he will become a great hiking buddy.
Hiking along the historic Augusta Canal. Back in the 1800's mules towed boats carrying goods along the canal. The tow path has been transformed into a hiking/biking trail.
Bandit and Simba learning to share. Bandit was getting a drink from the common water bowl. Simba was a little worried Bandit might want his food too, so he decided to eat it.
Wishing everyone a happy new year ahead. See you from the road!
